Type: Office
Location: Hypothetical
Year: 2023
This hypothetical co-working architectural project in a hypothetical city aims to create a cutting-edge workspace that is innovative and collaborative, with the concept of a “cocoon” driving the design.
The co-working space is designed to cater to the needs of a diverse range of professionals, from freelancers to small businesses.
The building is held together by this sky frame grid which is built up by the hydraulic crane that stays on top of the building for future interchangeable module purposes. As the building grows, the crane grows, it sits on top of the core of the building which holds the elevator shafts as well as the plumbing and mechanical spaces.
With the plan of an ever-changing facade building in the cityscape, the idea was to formulate a way in which the building itself could be constantly changing, evolving to adapt to the new. Although designed for offices, different modules could be replaced to change the purpose of the building.
SITE
The site chosen for the project is situated in a central location of the city, conveniently accessible by public transportation, and surrounded by a variety of amenities. The location of the building will provide an ideal environment for the co-working space, with a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere that attracts a diverse range of professionals from various industries.
PROGRAM
The building will have multiple levels that offer a range of workspaces, including private offices, open desk areas, meeting rooms, and communal spaces.
The interior design will prioritize functionality and comfort, with ample natural lighting and greenery to create a calming and inviting atmosphere.
CONCEPT
The “cocoon” concept will be reflected in the design of the building’s exterior and interior, where the form of the structure will be influenced by the function of a cocoon. The building will be designed to be modular, allowing for flexibility in its use and layout. The façade of the building will have an organic feel, with repetitive patterns that evoke the texture of a cocoon.
